Celebrate New Invention by Local Manufacturer

The Chamber invites members to join President Ted Welte at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 26, 5:30–7:00 pm, to celebrate the first public demonstration of the “Nano DeCopier”, a revolutionary paper-pulper developed by local investor/entrepreneur Dr. Sushil Bhatia that absolutely ensures the security of a company’s documents and prevents ID theft.

Beyond Shredding
“The Nano DeCopier, using only non-toxic chemicals, strips the ink from a load of printed paper and reduces it to pulp in 5–10-minutes,” says inventor Dr. Sushil Bhatia, president of Framingham’s JMD Manufacturing (and formerly a research scientist for Avery Denison, who has a number of other patents to his credit). “This type of document destruction is impossible to reverse, unlike the result of shredding, where the output can be pieced back together,” Bhatia adds. The desktop shredder has become commonplace, he notes, “but what about those documents whose contents are so highly confidential that it would be better if they didn’t exist at all?”

The $195 Nano DeCopier can satisfy this requirement: it’s able pulp not only sheets of paper, but business cards, junk mail (even unopened), pamphlets, booklets, and thin magazines as well. And you don’t have to remove the staples or paper clips first.

The Nano DeCopier, first used by Suffolk University, where Bhatia is a faculty member, is now being employed by P2E Scanning Services, of Haverhill, to offer a full-service scaled-up document destruction solution.

P2E believes that the technology will ultimately replace shredding because of its security and environmental friendliness; pulping is a completely green process and uses much less energy than shredders.

It’s worth noting that the Nano DeCopier’s pulp output can be used to fabricate packing peanuts, papier maché products, flower vases, fireplace logs, arts and crafts items and much more. “Everything is reused and recycled; that’s the beauty of it,” says Bhatia, who invites calls to JMD at (508) 620-6563 for demonstrations at his plant in the Bancroft Building, on Fountain Street in Framingham. Or, “I’ll pick up your old documents if you’re nearby and destroy them for a nominal cost, just to show you how well the Nono DeCopier paper pulper works.”
