Destination Beauty MedSpa hasn’t simply bucked the economic tide by starting up in the midst of the current recession—it has expanded exponentially. The inspiration of President and Medical Director Dr. Sanjeev Sharma—who is also President and CEO of Family Practice & Walk-in Medical Care Framingham—grew from one salaried associate to five full-time employees, four part-time employees, and three independent contractors, including: three experienced physicians performing aesthetic procedures and body sculpting, two massage therapists, and two licensed aestheticians. Over $1 million has been invested thus far to achieve their results—featured in the MetroWest Daily News, the Boston Globe, and India Today— leading former Chamber Treasurer Eduard Huppi to say: “I would consider it an honor if the Small Business Council accepted my nomination of Dr. Sanjeev Sharma and his MedSpa practice for the Small Business of the Year award.”

       

The successes of Destination Beauty MedSpa and Dr. Sharma’s family practice have enabled the firms to contribute over $100,000 in services to a variety of community-based organizations, including churches, ethnic associations, the campaign to deal with breast cancer and the Matthew Eappen-Shaken Baby Syndrome. Dr. Sharma is also founder and president of a trust that provides medical supplies and expertise to rural and poor communities in the United States and developing countries.
